The Open Road

Grass and trees roll past my sight,
as 18 wheels just roll on by.
Over the hill I see the lights,
they pierce the darkness in the night.
Dampness in the air I feel,
as drops of rain hit the windshield.

Traveling On

You don't know who they are,
As you drive on in your car.
They are long and sleek,
Your four wheeler is so meek.
Compared to those trucks,
Cars are like a baby ducks.
If a CB you have,

They Know Me

The truckers know me, as the Troubled Angel you see.
We talk of many things, as I drive on with gilded wings.

The white van I drive, with them safely arrive.
Though only a couple hundred miles I go,

A Truck Drivers Wife

People often ask me,
How do you get thru?
You live your life alone,
And it is only you.

That is where they are wrong,
I don’t live my life alone,
I just live a lot of it,
By the ringing of the telephone.

Highway 147

Driving my truck,
alone again on highway 147,
my lady Jolene is at home but I am all alone
Looking out as I drive,
the window creates a frame so the world doesn't feel real,
I feel like I'm looking at a frozen point in time rather than living

Truck Driver Son

He's my son and a truck driver at that
I've never told him how proud I am in fact

He always says drivers get a bad rap
But they're not all the same believe me of that

Lots of guys are out there just to try to earn

Lonely Road

Long road, Another Load
Alone again
The blue stretches high above
The black long below

Leaving memories time
to ribbon out
Reflecting the road in the mind

Singing country songs for company

Prayer Of A Trucker's Wife

Lord, bless this driver that I love
Watch and guide him from up above

Up all night to deliver a load
Keep him safe on that old road

Be his eyes, ears, and hands
Reflexes quick for things unplanned

No More Whores

The trucker's wife has a real hard life -
Her man is gone for stretches

Without a kiss from his little miss
He sometimes takes to wretches

You know the sort, the kind that court
a lonely trucker's libido:

Pain

PAIN!
fire all around!
flames slashing at me!
burning my living flesh!

PAIN!
water all around!
waves hitting me down!
burning my dissolving lungs!

PAIN!

Lonely Wife

I'm a lonely trucker's wife with many of sleepless nights,
not knowing if my trucker will make it through the night not knowing
if he may return not knowing if his Mack might not make it through another

The Long Kiss Goodbye

4am the alarm goes off, two days at home with my family and wife,
I ease my arm from under her head, she’s so warm and soft I don’t want to leave,
I shower and shave make some coffee and pack, I’m gone again don’t know when

Dreaming Of You

I wished that I could float away into your arms tonight,
being a trucker's mate is so hard to be-but to be with you when I can,
I guess, I just have to dream of you until then.

For when I hear that big truck now, I won't cringe at the sound,

I Love You. Do You Love Me Too?

Last night we fought for three hours straight. When you fially went up stairs,
I sat down and said i love you do you love me too.

So the next day we were talking and goofing off as we always do.

The Road Calls His Name

It’s nine o’clock my time
‘bout the hour of silence
As the kids settle in to their beds,
A feeling of sorrow has come to our heads.
The day has ended and a new waits,
The question is the same.

From A Trucker's Daughter

It doesn't matter the size they could be big, little,
tall, and or short. From a Trucker's Daughter.

He knows how to respect a vehicle. His hands are
tough but gentle. From a Trucker's Daughter.

The Driving Exam

The time had come for me to move up,
from a straight job to a tractor and pup.
I went to the place where you took your exam,
with an old cornbinder, and a 38 ft. van.

The weather was poor to say the least,

American Rig

Eighteen wheels and a mile of chrome
Triple air horn, a trucker’s second home
Movin’ goods through the states
Shiftin’ gears and tempting fates

Hitch up, gear up, saddle up and go

Lady At The Wheel

At a truck stop way out west
Lay five rigs pulled up for rest
Each sixteen tons of polished steel
With a man at every wheel

Then through the fog a sixth pulls in
Its big head-lights cut the dim

Eagle Road

For a second I thought I saw
A great big flying eagle fall
Then it spread its wings and flew away
To soar again some other day

With that eagle in my mind
I turn my thoughts to this drive

Truckstop Waitress

Now look here, trucker! Don’t start with me!
I know all you boys and just what you think you see!
I don’t need you handle or a tour of your truck.
And the only fill you’re getting is for your coffee cup!

Whispers Of The Past

A lonesome trucker sits silently in a booth,
At the back of an old run down truckstop.

How many more nights he wondered,
"Will I be able to endure,
This life and these people?"

He holds his hands out in front of him, weather beaten,

Truckers

I am a trucker that drives a big truck.
I am on the road all day and some nights.

My job is to deliver beg, heavy loads.
I do not get much of a break at all.

You should be thaking me each and every day;

Big Rigs

Big trucks get products here to there,
You basically see them everywhere.

The driver sits in the cab all day,
Waiting for the tim to pass away.

When drivers have to go out of state,
Their families sit and patiently wait,

A Trucker's Little Girl

A trucker's little girl always looks up
to her trucker daddy's big eyes...

Hoping he will stay knowing he
will go the next day.

Each time that daddy trucker
goes out on the road that

I'm a truckers wife

Here I sit all alone For my husbands
a trucker and is not home

Many miles he travels every day
Across great states far away

I miss him most late at night When
the moon is out and the stars are bright

Spinnin' My Wheels

Damed ol' Truck, has been my life,
lost a girlfriend, then my wife,

been sixteen years, driving down this road,
I've lost count of all the loads,

But you know, I wouldn't change a thing,

A Trucker's Life

They say to go one place but you
end up going further

They pay you for that place but
not the other.

The days are short the nights are
long and all I can do is sing myself
a song

Armada Of The Almighty

I stand among the rugged peaks
What glory to my soul this speaks

Beautiful day, bright sunshine
a marvel to this world of mine

Sweet surrender, so humble am I
when all alone I do sigh
