Listening to a song as I ride along,
I'm Westbound again, going home.
It has been only seven days ago that
I left Mama behind and I'm doing it alone.
Weather has been fair to mostly sunny,
For the most part, I can't complain.
Had a tough time in Louisiana though, lots of rain.
Westbound in Oklahoma, gorgeous sunset,
Traffic in tusla was not too bad.
Will be in Denver tomorrow, good ole Mile High,
How I love that town too.
Just time to catch a burger, clean up a little
Then load 1800 cases of Coors brew.
Bronco's season opener is today,
Stadium traffic each way is a mess.
Stop and go for five miles-OOPS,
a wreck up ahead, slow down be cool.
Somebody yaking away on the CB,
another driver says he's a motor mouth.
Raton Pass up ahead real soon,
Hope I can make it without heating up.
Grab a gear, down shift Detroit screaming,
Get her to the scales up on top.
Now the fun part is getting down,
Same gear going down, one lower is best.
Time is flying by, tunes blaring with 'CCR' and 'BTO'
Clasic Rock is sure better than 'HOT NEW COUNTRY',
Las Vegas already, sun is going down,
Not too much farther, I'll be home.
Aah yes, the lights of Albuquerque out of the canyon,
6 more miles to I25, turn north 3 miles and its home
sweet home.
